Namaste, my sweet and radiant yogis.
I hope the sunshine and warmth we are experiencing in these summer months is pouring into your soul creating an intoxicating glow from the inside out. Not to mention, a convenient ‘hot yoga studio’ in your own backyard (or balcony, driveway, nearby park, etc.).
I write to you today not necessarily with an offering, but with a request for help. Asking for help has always been an incredibly hard thing for me to do as I have never wanted to be an imposition on somebody. However, after some conversations with friends and mentors I’ve come to realize that sometimes it is necessary to ask for help, not just for yourself, but for the benefit of the community around you. After all, we can do a lot by ourselves, but when we come together to collaborate and share we become stronger, and more connected. So this is me, putting my pride aside and asking for your help.
I launched a GoFundMe today to help raise funds so I can complete my 300 hour yoga teacher training with my teacher Jonny Kest in October. Completing this training will allow me to refine my teaching skills so I can better hold space for our beautiful community as well as provide the necessary training so I can one day hold my own teacher trainings and help others share the gifts that this beautiful practice provides.
You can take a look at the GoFundMe here. I’ve included some fun offerings for contributions as a thank you for your help on this journey. Personally, I think they're super fun; not to mention probably the only time you’ll be able to get a tarot reading from me or incredibly discounted private yoga classes for a whole year.
I know the world is so heavy right now, and there are so many other important causes to give money to. If this one doesn’t speak to you, that’s totally okay. Thank you for your energy that you gave to read this. And maybe if you’re not in a place to give, you can help by spreading the word. Truly, every little bit helps.
To be honest, yoga was never supposed to be a long term deal for me. I didn't want it to be (mainly because I was scared of it). But the universe keeps telling me otherwise. I’ve finally decided to stop fighting and start listening. I’m leaning in to my life’s purpose which I truly believe is creating sacred space for our community and helping heal through teaching. You, my wonderful students who have put so much faith and trust in me, are the reason I’ve decided to stop fighting and lean in. So thank you, by showing up you’ve inspired and helped me show up for myself. And that, in itself, is a gift.
With light, love and endless gratitude,
Ashley
