Namaste, yogis. I hope this e-mail finds you navigating our rather crazy world with equanimity, compassion, and a whole lot of love. But, just in case you could use a little bit more of that in your life (and honestly, who couldn’t?) I have two offerings for you coming up.
I will be doing a 75 minute Vinyasa class on Saturday July 4th, at 10AM. If you haven’t taken one of my online classes yet, what are you waiting for? I’ve had 4 months to perfect them and I’ve been told they’re about as close to an in-person class as you can get. I am asking for a suggested donation of $10, but as always, give what you can. To register, you can respond to this e-mail or through Venmo. My username is @ashleyedanford. Once registered, I will send you the password for our little Zoom room, which can be found here.
Looking for an outdoor yoga practice? After a couple of request, I have decided to open up my Wednesday morning practice for you to join. I will be guiding in a “Follow the Yogi” way, where instructions will be minimal. I will take you through the Ashtanga Half Primary series. If you would like to come to that, shoot me a message and I will send you the location. Again, that will be Wednesday morning on July 8th at 7:30AM.
I am still offering privates both in person (at a safe distance) as well as online. Rather than just looking at your asana, we will have a meeting to discuss goals (in life and on the mat) and come up with a routine that best suits YOUR needs. If you’re interested in that, please reach out.
I think that is all for the moment now, y’all. We are going through a really heavy time as a collective. I encourage you to lean into your feelings, and remember there is no wrong way to feel in this moment. You can be happy, sad, terrified, anxious, uncomfortable. Just try not to dwell in any one place for too long. Acknowledge the moment, come to the breath, feel the sensation, and then make the decision of where to move from there. There is so much power within you. And when all else fails, put your feet in to the earth and repeat, “I am grounded. I am rooted. I am supported. I am loved.”
I wrote this in my journal this morning, and I’ll leave it here for you. “Society is a construct. True happiness is within. Follow your happy. Love is not a feeling, its an ability.”
I hope to see you tomorrow. With love and light,
Ashley
