Namaste, yogis!
How are you? The collective energy in the atmosphere is heavy as the results of the presidential election are still up in the air. As the votes continue to slowly be revealed, I hope you are able to find some peace and equanimity within. No matter how this thing shakes out, we have to take care of ourselves so we can better serve the evolution of our community. Taking time away from the news to focus on your breath and personal needs is never a bad or selfish thing, it’s necessary. As you hopefully know by now, you never need to wait for permission to take a shape, or do the thing, that serves you best. But just in case you needed a reminder or a little nudge, it’s okay to break away today, even for just a couple hours or minutes could do wonders.
As you know, I took a little hiatus from teaching yoga online in October while I started my 300hour yoga teacher training with Jonny Kest and realigned with my dharma on this earth. During my break, I was searching for the best way to provide yoga during this uncertain time, one day inspiration hit: let’s make an online studio and see what happens.
I am very excited, anxious, and nervous to introduce to y’all Current Yoga + Patreon. I wanted to find a way to bring consistency and ease to your practice while also establishing a strong sense of sangha, or community, through high quality classes. By launching Current Yoga with Patreon I am able to provide you with: more class styles with more class times, a easy way to purchase and maintain memberships, community outlets where we can come together and form real connection, and a whole world of yoga recordings, playlists, and articles written to help understand your yoga practice on a much deeper level, + so, so much more.
We are launching our first live-stream class this Saturday at 10AM with a much needed 75 minute vinyasa flow. I hope to see you there as we center our energy and prepare our minds and bodies for this next, unknown chapter. If you’re on the fence and unsure about an online class, send me an e-mail. I would love to give you the opportunity to try Current Yoga out for free before committing. I’ve been doing my entire 300HR YTT online and definitely have some tricks up my sleeves these days. ;)
I’m not quite sure how this thing will shake out, but I’m excited to see where it takes us. Who knows? Maybe it will help us launch into a brick and mortar studio by next year. Either way, I’m so eager to build this community and I hope you’ll share your energy so we can build it together, one breath- one movement- at a time. As always, thank you for all of your support. Please reach out with any feedback, questions, comments, or concerns. I truly love hearing from you.
with metta,
Ashley
