Finding Balance with the Equinox
Namaste, yogis!
The Fall Equinox fell last week on the 22nd, and I’m not sure about you but I *potently* feel the change in the air. The Fall Equinox calls for balance, it’s an initiation into a new season. We are deeply connected to the turning of the earth, the change of light and the shift in its cycles. As such, it’s normal that we feel these energies run-amok in our day-to-day lives, but it is also our responsibility to bring balance to them.
This Fall Equinox reminds us of the impermanence of all things. That things are constantly in change and in motion. During the summer all life forms tend to grow and flourish under the intense sunlight, and then slowly become more and more dormant as we enter into the Fall and Winter months. Normally we would have the alluring enchantment of the holiday season to shift our focus to, but with the ongoing pandemic, even that has a cloud looming over it. Things will not be the same this year, and how we move forward into these next months is critical.
Now is a wonderful time to reflect with gratitude on the gifts you have received this Summer. What wonderful lessons and breakthroughs have you gotten to experience? What moments in the Summer sun did you experience that you can hold onto when things get a little dark and cold? Allow yourself to reflect with deep respect on ALL of the fluctuations life. Maybe even give yourself permission to document how one feeling that may have been viewed as bad or uncomfortable changed, morphed, and became a catalyst for something good in your life.
As we collectively enter this new season, remember that balance is always achievable. When things get heavy or uncertain, root your feet in the Earth and feel it supporting you. Come to your breath. Notice the inhale. The exhale. The beautiful life force, prana, that is constantly within just ready to be tuned into. Think of all the blessings in your life in which to be thankful for.
“I am rooted. I am grounded. I am supported. I am loved.”
Love Abounds!
